Swine flu

Pandemic - when people see the word, there is a cold shiver that trickles down their spine. Even more so when it is possible that whatever the pandemic might be, there is a chance it could end up in our own backyard.
In the past few weeks, the news spread across the country that an outbreak of what has been known as swine flu, ripped its way through Mexico cities and towns, collecting an eye-opening death toll that has shaken up the "close the border," debate to almost being a possibility of happening.

Finally!
My time here has come to an end!
To be perfectly honest, graduating is the best feeling in the world right now.
It's so hard for me to believe that I will be completing a part of my education at DC3. I not only feel a sense of relief, but I also feel so accomplished.

New chapter; the end of the beginning

I've come into a new chapter in my life, a time of letting go. I've been here at Dodge City Community College for two years, the expected time, but not with the same results as what many would expect. Most at this time will be graduating and using the summer break to prepare for the school they will transfer to.

To help boost the budget, Dodge City Community College has had to cut from the budget about two percent, according to Dodge City Globe.
Due to the budget being condensed, DCCC will look to cut a few programs, DCCC President Richard Burke told the Globe.
Also in the Globe, a list of potential cuts for fiscal year 2010 will include a list of open positions for 60 days, reducing staff and cutting funding for new programs and marketing.

Art show rewards students' hard work

Students from the Painting, Design II, Metalsmithing, Ceramics, Drawing, and Photography classes came together to display their work from the past semester on Friday 24th, 2009. Over 100 students, friends, and family members came to the reception held in the lobby of the Little Theatre.

Conqs' season ends with loss to Cowley; DCCC wins 18 games

The Conqs closed out their season after losses to Cowley and winning one of four games against Butler. They dropped both games to Cowley, 8-3 and 6-3, in the first round of the NJCAA Region VI playoffs. The Conqs finished their season with a record of 18-34 and 9-23.
